INSIDE IARC – Marilyne Marion

Marilyne is our Intended Parent Intake Coordinator, guiding prospective parents through their research and helping them to officially get started with their journeys.  She has been with the IARC team since 2014, and since then she has become an amazing source of knowledge for the intended parents who we are fortunate to help.  Her motivation and work ethic embody all IARC’s core values, and we are lucky to have her on our team!

Have a coworker describe you.

Intended Parent Coordinator Jillian had this to say about Marilyne:

“Marilyne is a quiet, yet witty, woman with a bright smile and warm heart.  She is a wealth of knowledge and can remember parents from several years ago as if it were yesterday.  Marilyne’s passion for family is evident in everything that she does, both professionally and personally.  She is not only committed to finding the right resources and best solutions to every situation in the office, but she is also a chauffeur, chef and tutor to her 3 children.  She would do absolutely anything to see them happy, including stay up late with one child and wake up early with another.  As she once told me, “I will sleep when I am old and useless.”  Her work ethic is above and beyond.  With her creative problem-solving skills and self-driven commitment to making the entire process as smooth as possible, parents working with the IARC team are truly in the best hands possible with Marilyne!”

What is the best part about your job or why you love working for IARC?

The best part of my job is to be able to snuggle so many newborns. ???? I love helping intended parents so they can feel reassured and ready to start their surrogacy process educated. Selecting a surrogacy agency is a complicated process so I hope that my guidance helps them move forward with the right agency so they can have the smooth and safe process they deserve.

Share a fun fact about yourself.

I worked in two very different fields before surrogacy. I have diplomas in culinary art and biochemistry. I also have three kids all 8 years apart; 16 years, 8 years, and 3 months.

If you could visit anywhere in the world you’ve never been, where would you go?

My family loves traveling, and we have been blessed to visit many amazing places. Japan is next on our list. I would like to visit during the Sakura season to see the beautiful cherry blossoms and Mont Fuji.

What is an IP or SU story that motivates you in your work?

Prospective parents reaching out after having been scammed by horrible agencies. It is breaking my heart that people can play with those parents’ dreams and it motivates me to pass the right information along so they can protect themselves against that risk.

If you could do someone else’s job in IARC for a day, who would it be and why?

Morgane! She is one of our program coordinators and our other French speaker. I usually pass parents to our Matching Coordinator, Jillian, once they are signed up and I don’t really have time to get to know them very well. However, I keep a longer connection with our French-speaking parents since I help them with translations during all their first steps before matching (clinic, selection, egg donor matching, etc.).  I would love to follow one of these couples during the birth of their baby to share the joy of this big day!

Who or what inspires you?

In my personal life, my husband. He is really clever and always has the right solution, but don’t tell him I said that. ????
