INSIDE IARC- WHITNEY FISHER

Whitney joined the IARC team in 2020 and quickly jumped into her role. She has often said that this felt like a missing puzzle piece coming together at the right time in her life by working here and we couldn’t agree more! She is dedicated to our mission of creating families and her positive and bubbly personality make her a joy to work with daily.

Have a coworker describe you.

Program Coordinator Kayla had this to say about Whitney:

Whit is one of our newest program coordinators but what she lacks in experience she makes up for in enthusiasm and intellect.  She’s quick as a whip, extremely easy to talk to and liked by everyone she encounters.  If someone told me they didn’t like her my first reaction would be to laugh, then, if they didn’t laugh alongside me, I would tell them “no one likes a liar” ? Whit’s allergic to what feels like every living thing yet she never lets that stop her from enjoying their existence. Exhibit A- her cat whom she cuddles, kisses and shares a home with even though her body tells her no.  I think that alone sums up the kind of person Whit is.  She’s genuine, cares deeply about the people (and animals) around her and doesn’t let anything keep her from living her best life.

What is the best part about your job or why you love working for IARC?

The best part of my job is easily having the honor and privilege of being a small piece of a family. It’s so fun for me to talk about my job to friends and family to share and spread information about the incredible gift of surrogacy, the details surrounding the journey, and the uniqueness of IARC in general. I’m so beyond proud to work here!

Share a fun fact about yourself.

I worked in pro-sports for 4 years for the Minnesota Timberwolves and the World Champion Minnesota Lynx – which means that I have a couple of championship rings and attended a private concert by Prince at Paisley Park after the 2015 championship win with the team.

If you could visit anywhere in the world you’ve never been, where would you go?

I want to go to Alaska so bad! I have the biggest heart for the Northwoods and for all animals so I would love to go whale watching, see some moose, and even some big bears. Definitely a bucket list item for me.

If you could do someone else’s job in IARC for a day, who would it be and why?

I would love to have Keely’s job for a day- she is constantly impressing me with her legal knowledge and skills. I have always been interested in law and I would feel like a total boss to have the skillset she has and to be able to use my legal toolset to support our families and babies! I think it would be so interesting and rewarding.

When not in the office, you can find me…………….

Visiting family in Wisconsin or testing out new restaurants in Minnesota (preferably on a patio).

What did you want to be when you grew up?

I wanted to be a vet until I found out that they have to put animals down- then, I knew it wasn’t for me.
