Betsy started her journey with IARC as a surrogate in 2020, but, as an adopted child, she knew she wanted to help make families since she was young. While on her journey, she knew a career with IARC was necessary for her future and was so excited to join the wonderful team as a Program Coordinator in 2021. When asked what it means to be on a surrogate journey, she said, “It is incredibly humbling to be entrusted with, not only the hopes and dreams of the intended parent, but also the hopes and dreams they have for their little one. It is truly a momentous honor to be a small part of their lives.” The most important part of her life are her son and daughter. She loves reading to them, learning from and with them, cooking/baking with them and going on adventures with them. Her values are showing kindness, gratitude and helping others. She is passionate about social justice and loves spending time with friends and family, being outside (especially in and around water), hiking, traveling and all things food.
